Mumblin’ Drew’s Oldfangled Orchestrators are an acoustic ensemble straddling the worlds of old time string band, ragtime, tin pan alley, and early jazz. Genre lines blur as clarinet, fiddle, and harmonica, sing in unison, and a bowed upright bass cradles the band and the audience. In his younger years, Minnesota-bred Mumblin’ Drew would meander down the Mississippi to spend time playing and loitering around the streets of New Orleans, where he found a community of like-minded musicians. He soaked up the different stylings and musicianship, and brings his own energy and vibe that helps establish MOO as a uniquely formidable unit.
